This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and managed when you visit or make a purchase from balancedutah.com (the “Site”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Cookies

If you have an account and log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me,” your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after one day.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional external tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Order Information

When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address, and phone number. When we talk about “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.

SMS / TEXT MESSAGING POLICY

Consent and Opt-In

By providing your mobile phone number and opting in through our website forms, appointment booking systems, or by texting a designated keyword to our business number, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Balanced Chiropractic. We may send you two types of messages:

  • Marketing Messages: Promotional messages about our services, special offers, health tips, and related content. Frequency varies. You may opt in by checking the appropriate consent checkbox on our forms or by texting a keyword.
  • Transactional Messages: Messages related to your account and services you have requested, including appointment reminders, appointment confirmations, account notifications, and billing updates. Message frequency varies based on your activity and scheduled services.

Your consent to receive marketing messages is not a condition of any purchase or service. You may opt in to transactional messages only, marketing messages only, or both.

Opt-Out

You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After sending STOP, you will receive a one-time confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out. You will no longer receive SMS messages from us after that confirmation. If you wish to rejoin, you may opt in again by following the original sign-up process.

Help and Support

If you are experiencing issues with our messaging program or have questions, you can reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us directly at office@balancedutah.com or call our office.

Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies depending on the type of messages you have opted in to and your interactions with our services. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Contact your wireless provider for details about your text and data plan.

SMS Data Collection

When you opt in to our SMS program, we collect your mobile phone number, your consent status (opt-in or opt-out), the date and time of your consent, and the method by which you opted in (e.g., web form, keyword text). This information is used solely to manage your messaging preferences and deliver the messages you have consented to receive.

No Sharing of SMS Data

We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number, opt-in consent data, or any SMS-related personal information with any third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes.

We may share your information only with our SMS service provider (e.g., GoHighLevel or its sub-processors) solely for the purpose of delivering text messages that you have consented to receive. No other third-party access to your SMS opt-in data or mobile number is permitted.

No mobile information will be disclosed for marketing or promotional purposes. Providing information to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be disclosed with any external entities.

Carrier Liability

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Balanced Chiropractic is not responsible for any delays, failures in delivery, or any other issues related to the transmission or receipt of text messages.

DATA SECURITY

We take the security of your personal information seriously. We implement commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include:

  • Secure transmission of data using industry-standard encryption (SSL/TLS) on our website and forms.
  • Access controls that limit access to personal information to authorized personnel who need it to perform their job functions.
  • Regular review of our data collection, storage, and processing practices to guard against unauthorized access.
  • Use of reputable, compliant third-party service providers who are contractually obligated to protect your data.

While no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal information. If you have reason to believe that your interaction with us is no longer secure, please contact us immediately at office@balancedutah.com.

HOW DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have provided, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address) and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

DO NOT TRACK

Please note that we do not alter our Site’s data collection and use practices when we see a Do Not Track signal from your browser.

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.

Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site) or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. DATA RETENTION

When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your Order Information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.

All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

SMS Data Retention: We retain your SMS consent records and messaging preferences for as long as you remain opted in to our messaging program and as required by applicable law. If you opt out, we will retain your opt-out status to ensure we honor your request. You may request deletion of your SMS-related data at any time by contacting us at office@balancedutah.com.

WHAT RIGHTS DO YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

MINORS

The Site is not intended for individuals under the age of 18.
